PRO/AM Photographique #2 Date : 03/2005 No. images : 10 Bio I was born in Israel in 1977 and grew up in a small village just outside of Tel-Aviv. As a child I spent most of my time silently observing the life and things that surrounded me, both in my village and in the nearby city. However, the idea of taking pictures didnt occur to me until one day, while walking around Tel-Aviv, I was suddenly struck with the impression I could see into people just by looking at them, as if I could almost crawl into their skin and view the world through their eyes
I studied photography in Jerusalem at the Bezalel School of art and design and during this period I enjoyed the opportunity of spending one semester at the Paris Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) as an exchange student. In 2000, a year after graduating from Bezalel, I moved back to Paris as I was attracted by its cosmopolitan aspect and cultural diversity. Since Ive been here, I worked as a photographer for Disneyland resort (an interesting experience for someone coming from art school
), started collaborating as an editor and photographer with the Italian magazine Uovo, and more recently participated in a collective show in Como, Italy. I particularly enjoy doing magazine work and hope to quickly find more magazines to work with. Looking back to that peculiar day in Tel-Aviv, over ten years ago, I realize that even though I dont get struck by strange revelations anymore, I still feel deeply moved by much of what I see around me, by the simple poetry of it all. I guess I use photography as a way of sharing this constant amazement I feel with other people. I invite them to step into my world and try to go into theirs, to see and be seen. Photography is my passport to these worlds, though finding the gates can be very tricky sometimes...
